Local Climate

As a part of the southern region of Great Britain, its geography is very diverse and primarily consists of rolling hills and plains; with other key features such as lowlands and basins. England is home to many different types of terrain, from the mountains of the Lake District in the north to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds and the flat fertile soils of East Anglia. The climate of England is usually temperate with cold winters and warm, wet summers. Winters are usually cool with temperatures sometimes falling below freezing, while summers are usually warm and sunny with temperatures occasionally reaching over 30°C. Rainfall is frequent throughout the year, but the western parts of the country tend to be the wettest with the highest amount of rainfall per year.
