我们的故事

On October 10, 2023, during an English class, I found myself brainstorming ideas for our online international friends' group. I wanted to create a group project that would engage everyone, and then it struck me—why not launch a weekly newsletter? As the founder of the school English club this year, I needed a central theme to unify our activities. That night, I drafted four proposals, and it was swiftly agreed that this was a great idea. At the English club meeting the following Thursday, I had no trouble introducing the concept. I dedicated my spare time over the next week to designing the first issue on some sheets of paper. Though my design skills are limited—especially since we haven’t had a practical arts class in two years—I aimed for a simple and cohesive layout. The design of the date and page boxes was influenced by the People's Daily, a newspaper that I subscribe to. The inaugural issue of our newsletter was met with enthusiasm, garnering positive responses from both the English club and our international friends' group. We decided to continue publishing the newsletter biweekly, allowing contributions from members of both communities. Over time, it evolved into a valuable platform for sharing our cultures and perspectives, fostering deeper connections and friendships across borders. Reflecting on that moment of inspiration in my English class, I’m thankful for the chance to create something meaningful alongside a group of like-minded individuals. Join us on this journey as we celebrate our diverse voices and experiences!

The mission of the Union of Humanities and History Clubs (UHHC) is to discover, explore, and promote the beauty of the humanities. Any school club or individual with an interest in the humanities—including but not limited to philosophy, history, literature, arts, music, and religious studies—is welcome to join.

The UHHC seeks to establish an equal, free, and open platform for exchanging ideas in the humanities. It aims to provide opportunities for the publication of scholarly work (in the form of articles, videos, etc.), periodic humanities writing competitions, academic discussions, cross-regional cultural exchanges, and the organization of offline humanities-related activities.

The foundation of the UHHC rests on two key activities: the publication of written works from affiliated clubs and an annual humanities writing competition with an entry acceptance rate of 30%. Those whose submissions are accepted will receive an official certificate by mail.
