Global Teaching Methods
Hello, I'm Daniel, I'm from the U.S., and I'm a junior in 11th grade. School here is deemed pretty lacking. The students who struggle pass with 70%, while the more
academically inclined students achieve grades between 90-100%. Where I attend school, there is ample support available for students who need it; we have 'learning
support coaches' who assist those in need. The coursework at my specific school is relatively easy, but I had the option to attend a different public high school that
offers more rigorous courses. One unique aspect of my school is that we have 'trade shops'. Each student selects one after their first year and continues with it until
graduation. I chose Automotive Technology, which means I have a class period dedicated to learning about being a mechanic.
Additionally, the military advertises in our school. In the counselor's office area, there is a stand with pamphlets highlighting different military career options. They
have conducted presentations, provided shirts, offered the ASVAB test, and occasionally set up a stand during lunch periods. While their presence is not constant, it
has been noticeable throughout my time at the school.
