Abstract
In this report, we surveyed 157 Gen-Z individuals from four countries to understand their perspectives on the future. We aimed to explore any national variations and, more importantly, how the views of this new generation may influence their future ambitions and actions.
We'll delve into the national statistics later in this report, comparing our results with academic studies to see how our sample might contradict or strengthen existing theories about this generation. Finally, we will conclude with an analysis of the possible anomalies with national norms and discuss what inferences, if any, can be drawn from our limited sample.
Note
To analyze the overall optimism level for each of the questions and identify areas where students feel less positive, we introduced a new metric called the Positive Percentage Weighted Value (PPWV). The higher this value, the more positive the sample subjects feel about a question.
PPWV = (number of very positive ×2 + positive × 1 - very negative ×2 - negative×1)/ total sample size
