Issue Theme/Column:
Poetic Expression
Sometimes I sit and wonder,
‘bout things that aren't here or there
Why does the earth go round,
why is math so hard,
why do we have twenty exams a month
The world lies dark and silent around
me
as I peer into the depths of the starless
sky
Nothing is there
All is dark and grey
There's no round moon
No glistening stars
Only a velvety darkness
Smothering a world of the dead
I turn my head
A new perspective
The stars pop out of nowhere
A brilliant moon dazzles my eyes
A holy light christens the world of the
living
I sit amazed
a hand on the silk curtains
