My City, My Voice
Just an inconspicuous industrial area in Stuttgart, a city in the south of Germany… At least, it looks like that. But here, you can find this wonderful and small place. It’s a unique resting spot. I walked down the streets and saw it. My view was exactly the one you can see in the picture. Even though I was in a hurry, I stopped for a brief moment. I watched it and enjoyed the inner peace this place emits. I couldn’t just walk on. A few hours later, I came back to take this picture. I remembered our newsletter and decided to write a short article about it.
Now, I’m sitting in front of the laptop, thinking of this place and what it means to me. It is not the most important place for me. It’s not even one of the ones I visit regularly, since I’m not often in Stuttgart. Nevertheless, it’s a resting area that has a place in my heart now. It gives me strength to see the big trees and the solid stone. The water that flows from the stone is surprisingly clear and cold, even though the temperature around it is high. The trees provide shade, enhancing this place, even in summer, as a protected area—a place to rest for minutes or even hours.
Sometimes, I envision this place by closing my eyes. I see myself sitting on the bank, watching the water and writing or reading something. If I had the opportunity to create a holographic retreat or haven, I’m sure this little idyll would be one of the first places I would create…
