My City, My Voice
Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka, our village is a place where time seems to move a little slower, and life unfolds at its own gentle pace. Surrounded by a lush landscape, our village is more than just a collection of homes—it's a close-knit community where everyone knows each other, and the bonds we share run deep.
Growing up here, the small forest at the edge of the village was our playground. As children, we spent countless afternoons exploring its mysteries, creating stories about the creatures that might live there, and simply enjoying the freedom that comes with being surrounded by nature. Now, that same forest provides us with a source of livelihood, as we have begun cultivating the land, transforming it into a thriving area for our community.
Our village is modest, with just two shops that serve as the center of our little world. These shops are more than just places to buy goods—they're where we gather, exchange news, and stay connected. The rhythm of life here is not hurried; instead, it’s marked by the steady flow of days filled with meaningful work and moments of connection with one another.
While our village may not be bustling, it’s rich in the simple joys that come from living close to nature and being part of a supportive community. The gardens we tend aren’t just for sustenance; they’re a symbol of our shared efforts and the pride we take in our way of life.
In here, life is about finding happiness in the small things—like the laughter of children playing, the warmth of a neighbor’s greeting, or the beauty of the landscape that surrounds us. This is our home, and while it may be small, it holds a big place in our hearts.
